CHINO ROYALE DOMINATE THE CLUTCH MOMENTS TO WHITEWASH THE WHITEY DUCKS IN PAIRS, LEAVING NO WAY BACK ON A WET AND WILD DAY 3

The 2019 Tanglwyst Cup took place over 31 October - 2 November. The course line-up was as strong as it had ever been for a Tanglwyst Cup and with seemingly well-matched teams, all signs were pointing to an exhilarating Tanglwyst Cup. And so it proved... with the exception of the closing holes on each of the first 2 days. From the outset it was clear that Storm Pablo would be playing a major factor on day 3 and so both teams knew the importance of being ahead going into the final day' singles matches. What followed were 6 excellent pairs matches that were all-square, or within 1 hole, going into the final 6 holes in each match. But it was King's Chino Royale team that was willing to roll the dice and produce the money shots when it mattered most, closing out for victory in all six matches in remarkable fashion. This gave King's men a 'dormie' lead going into singles and thus requiring a solitary half-point to clinch the Cup. Despite horrendous weather conditions, the TC men did battle once again on day 3 and shared the spoils to give Chino Royale a 9-3 margin. After many years in the doldrums it was King's last round pick, Andy Davidson, who triumphed as Player of The Year, claiming a hat trick of wins in the process.
